Culmhead Solar Field Proposal

Renewable Power Ltd and Notus Energy are looking to develop a solar energy site at Culmhead Aerodrome approximately 1.5km northeast of Churchstanton and 8km southeast of Wellington to generate clean, economic electricity with minimal impact on the countryside.

The project will use solar photovoltaic (PV) technology, which silently converts sunlight into electricity over an 18 hectare site (or about 1/10th of the land area at the aerodrome) and will generate approximately five Megawatts (MW) of power, which is enough to supply the needs of up to 2000 homes.

A public consultation event will be held at Churchinford Village Hall from 2pm to 8pm on Friday 17th February to present designs plus archaeological and environmental survey results. The exhibition will give the local community an opportunity to see details of the plans as well as background about Renewable Power Ltd and Notus Energy and the technologies involved.
