Renewable Power have a strong community focus and have worked closely with Somerset County Council to project-manage a wind turbine and photo-voltaic array project at Milverton School. The school has achieved Gold Flag Eco-School Status. An array of Solar electric Photo-Voltaic (PV) panels has been installed on the school roof. This achieves a 2kW peak output in full sun at mid-day in June and July.
As a founder director of Brendon Energy Limited Industrial and Provident Society, we turned an idea formed by Wiveliscombe 10 Parishes Transition movement turn into reality with a successful community share launch and the installation of a 29kW solar PV roof on Somerset County Council's Children's Centre. We are now looking to install a second solar array on a Somerset School before the next feed-in tariff change.

Our ethos is that communities must be supported because they have an extremely important role to play in preventing climate change. Development of appropriate, community-owned renewable energy is an important part of the process.
